Five Years ago today my Hannah came into the world with 4 pushes and a small amount of freaking out by my mother (it was the first time she had seen a baby crowning, she about passed out)
For the two weeks after she was born I swear I didn't sleep more than an hour at a time. She and I worked through first time mommy, first time nursing and first time mental breakdown together.
She's an amazing young lady. She is smart and funny and by most people's estimation is a carbon copy of me, right down to the whole "really not a morning person" thing. She love M&M's and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. She is learning to write her name and recognize the letters of the alphabet. She has this toddler logic that often has me rolling on the floor because she also has no filter and whatever she thinks just comes out. Often very loudly and in public.
She is a kind little girl who loves animals and is both gentle and excited when she gets to interact with them. Her favorite toys have always been her animals (stuffed ones and hard plastic ones) which she carries with her all over the place and often sleeps with. She loves movies and has recently become a fan of Lilo and Stitch a fact which has given me great joy, because in spite of the fact that I was an adult when it came out it has always been one of my favorite movies.
She loves to run and jump and swim and, if I let her, she'd run from the minute she gets up until heat stroke caused her to fall over. We took her to the pool a few weeks ago and she was wearing a floating vest which allowed her to swim and after she got the hang of it she was off like a shot.
I am so blessed to have her in my life and I can't wait to watch her grow and find her place in the world.
Happy Birthday my stinky little Hannah Lorraine.
