My children have both developed an unfortunate condition know as PITA syndrome in which young-uns who are only kind of tired fall asleep too early, then about an hour later they wake up and are cranky little monsters for EVAR.
I have been saving my sanity by perusing the Rants from Mommy-land Blog. It's my new favorite thing in the world. and I feel like I'm going to start using RFML jargon in everyday speech. (My best friend doesn't read this blog but if she did she'd love this, they call box wine from Target "T-boxes".). No one will know what I'm talking about but who cares I'll be giggling. Booger is hacking on me and Pumpkin keeps asking me to hoist her ever growing little body into my arms and snuggle her.
When Pumpkin was a newborn I used to get phone calls from Mutti that said, "Don't shake the baby!" She was afraid that Jeeves and I as new parents would give in to the frustration of trying to keep a newborn alive, and start playing hot potato with her. Now when I'm having a rough day, (cause let's face it they are more common now then they were then), I'll call her and say, "Tell me again...." she always knows what I'm talking about and she says, "Don't shake the baby!" It's a good way to break the tension and it usually makes me laugh away the stress.
So, the munches and I are going to bed now, and until tomorrow, I'll just say...
DON'T SHAKE THE BABY!!!
