Pants

Yeah, we're gonna talk about pants again.  (BTW: the pants mentioned in the hyper-linked post still fit, I feel like this is a small measure of success in this weight gain of pregnancy)

Today I'm having pant issues. None of my pants fit properly. The bump is impeding the normal wear of my size 14 pants. Standing is no biggie but sitting causes those lovely "pants are too tight lines" that itch and hurt. I'm buying a bella band this weekend. I never used one before but before I was overweight to begin with, didn't show as early, and I fit into my (size 18)maternity pants better than I do now (they are way too big).

The other issue is that altering maternity pants is not as easy as one would believe, and my first attempt was a dismal failure, I ended up with a pair of gray pants that have a waistline that sits right under my boobs and an ass two sizes too big, shesh! So I've found a good tutorial and am going to perform some pant triage. These are nice pants and a good color for the fall/winter so I want to salvage them if possible.

I get paid three times in September, which is pretty cool, so Jeeves and I have decided that the "extra" (insurance is only taken out twice a month so twice a year we get a paycheck that's a lot bigger) will go toward buying some maternity bras and a few "nicer" items of clothing to round out the maternity wardrobe. (oldnavy.com here I come!) I've also got some patterns for maternity shirts and I am going to go to some garage sales this weekend to find things to alter. I'm going to try to copy some of the things I've seen on oldnavy.com, Jersey knit fabrics are very forgiving after all and if I can buy a shirt for 25 cents and turn it into a top that would have cost 30 dollars I'll be pretty happy with that.

P.S. Someone who loves me (psst...Jeeves...Mutti...) should get this for the tiny ninja and I.

Week 12, Second Trimester here I come!

It's so close I can almost taste it. (the way I can almost taste beer; God, I miss beer)

This is the first day of week 12, (Big exhale everyone, Moms out there know what I'm talking about) and depending on which website you use the baby is either the size of a lime, or a Medium sized shrimp.

It is starting to make and excrete urine which is being breathed in during the practice breathing it is doing inside of there. (makes you think a little bit about holding that thing before they clean it off, yuck)

The baby is developing reflexes and if i poked my belly, (or when the munches do WWE moves and land on me) it would squirm.

It's ears are forming and it's eyes have migrated to the front of it's face, and it looks more human now. (also, um, migrating eyes? am I having a baby or a flounder?)

The "experts" say that I should start feeling in influx of good hormones and be less tired, less sick, etc, etc, etc...That remains to be seen. Jeeves still maintains that I'm further along than 12 weeks, which also remains to be seen, we'll get a due date based on the size of the baby when we have our ultrasound in October.
Zomb-babies!

We have decided on some names, so as soon as we know what it is, We'll be calling it by it's name and then soon after it'll have a nickname like Pumpkin and Sunshine.

This week's cartoon hits really close to home, I'm not gonna lie.
